When are IFTA quarterly returns due?
IFTA returns are due on the last day of the month after each quarter: April 30 (Q1), July 31 (Q2), October 31 (Q3) and January 31 (Q4, the following year).
Quarterly due dates
Q1 (January–March): due April 30.
Q2 (April–June): due July 31.
Q3 (July–September): due October 31.
Q4 (October–December): due January 31 of the next year.
If a due date falls on a weekend or holiday, your base jurisdiction may allow the next business day. Check with your base state.
No miles this quarter?
Most base jurisdictions still expect a return for each quarter you hold an IFTA license, even if it shows no miles. Not filing can lead to penalties or license problems.

Questions
Where do I file IFTA?
You file with your base jurisdiction (usually the state where your vehicles are registered), not with a federal agency.
Is IFTA the same as UCR or the MCS-150?
No. IFTA is fuel tax reporting to your base state. UCR is a yearly federal-program registration, and the MCS-150 is your FMCSA registration update every two years.
